My house is nearly always in some state of near disaster…I gave up the pretense of apologizing for it years ago. I would rather be outside going on everyday little adventures with my boys, usually in some state of near disaster ourselves, feeling the dirt between our toes, the wind on our faces, camera in hand, or looped around one of the kids’ necks. These ordinary little moments are far more precious to me than having all the laundry done and put away. Even though I covet a little bit of alone time and quiet, I am happiest when I’m surrounded by the people I love, which thankfully is often. I love to travel far and wide, but it is this – this chaotic menagerie of family, some by blood, some by happy accident, usually gathered around a campfire with a herd of kids thundering around near and far, all the while making a collection of moments that I treasure – that will always bring me home. And that is exactly what I want to capture for you. The times that might seem messy and imperfect and even mundane, but that you long for when they’re gone. The moments that make up the memories that one day your children will be sharing with their own.
