I love this whole message! I just had a baby 7 months ago and have been struggling with the way my body looks. I keep comparing my 7 month post partum body to these unrealistic expectations that I should look exactly the way I looked pre pregnancy by now.
My body did an amazing thing and grew a human being. It will never look like my pre pregnancy body. But every stretch mark, extra pound and loose skin will remind me that my body did an amazing thing that many women won’t get the chance to experience and I am thankful for that.
I would love to be apart of this project if it is still going on!

Have you ever considered featuring women who have put their bodies through hell just trying to have children, but were unsuccessful? Maybe that’s too sad, but it’s a reality. Some unsuccessful motherhood journeys can include surgieries and hormones, both of which affect how these women look, yet no one recognizes them or celebrates their journey. How beautifully you capture the non-judging sweetness of children loving their mothers and their mothers loving them back. My children are now young adults, but your photos brought back memories of the intensity of those days caring for little ones. You capture the wonderful physicality of all that (exhausting) bathing, carrying, feeding, dressing, playing! And skin is so beautiful in natural light!ReplyCancel
