These beautiful ladies are four generations and all first born.
30 years ago, in 1986 there was another photo session of four generations that included three of them and a great grandma. I think this is so special. So neat. This time they included a special quilt sewn by a great grandma. I really hope that in thirty years from now, in 2046, they can do the same thing.
Here are some favourite photos of my time spent with these women.
The words are theirs.
~Jenna xx
“…being your mom, grandma and great grandma has been my greatest joy, my reason for everything.”
“Don’t stress the little stuff.”
“I love my ma and I love my ma Raine.”
“[Do not] discount any lessons. Remember them all, learn from them all. What you learn in your younger years, you will use in your golden years.”
“I hope she becomes a strong woman, capable of compassion but yet sure of herself. I hope she remains bigger than her body. I hope she is happy and fulfilled, on whatever path she chooses. I hope she wanders, I hope she hungers for knowledge, I hope she loves, I hope she laughs so big it comes from her knees.”
“From both of them I inherited a connection to the earth, a desire and a need to be outside, mostly barefoot. Feet in the dirt, face in the sun.”
“Their strength.”
“They both hold family above all, and are fiercely protective and endlessly proud of that.”

A LITTLE TIDBIT | Edmonton Family Photographers
Erin, who was the baby in the original portrait, has participated in our A MOTHER’S BEAUTY SESSIONS twice! The first time, she came last minute when another participant canceled. The second time, she had graciously agreed to act as hostess weeks before her third child arrived earth-side. We insisted on a few portraits in the water before she headed home.
If you’d like to stay up to date on our recent sessions, follow us on FACEBOOK or INSTAGRAM.
This is awesome.
I LOVE all of these images.
Wonderful documenting and what a special idea these women had redoing this.
Thank you for sharing!
