World Naked Gardening Day

Edmonton Family Photographer | Hobbs Photography

It’s the first Saturday in May and you know what that means! World Naked Gardening Day! Yes, it’s a thing. How great is that!
World Naked Gardening Day was founded in 2005 by Jacob Gabriel and Mark Storey as a way to celebrate body positivity and just the simple joy of sunshine on one’s skin. Of course, we couldn’t let it pass us by without taking some photos to commemorate the occasion. The downside is we live in Edmonton. Not much happens in the way of gardening – naked or otherwise- until the end of the month. But as good Canadians, we weren’t about to let a little spring snowstorm get in the way. We gathered our supplies and headed into Jenna’s kitchen garden to create some light-hearted portraits in the buff.

A huge thank you to Levi and Grandma Cheryl for manning the camera (in full winter gear, I might add). If you loved this, we have plans in the works for International Skinny Dip Day July 13th! Full information will be posted on our EVENTS PAGE once details have been finalized.

We have MOTHER’S DAY PORTRAITS coming up May 17 & 18 in our studio as well as our BLOOM SESSIONS in June, July, and August.

We’d also love for you to keep up with our shenanigans on INSTAGRAM.

You guys are pretty brave.  My hats off to you, but only the hat for now.  I need 20+ before I discard any further attire.  Love your posting.ReplyCancel

Well, probably more quirky than brave. Why not?! Although, I think it’s pretty obvious this wasn’t founded in Edmonton.ReplyCancel
